Javascript reading a cookie function

Sometimes you simply wish to read a certain cookie by javascript set by the server to see if a setting is true.

I use this simple function for that. All you have to provide is the name of the cookie and it will be read out and return the value.

If no matching cookie has been found the function will return null so you have something to test against.

simple jQuery smooth scrolling block

Sometimes you want a block to scroll along when the user scrolls, but you don't want it to show up everywhere and to stop at certain points.
This is where you can use this simple jQuery scroll along script.

Just put the jQuery selector in #SELECTOR, the ID of class of your div/element that needs to scroll along, and it wil simply scroll along, untill it reaches $bottom stop.

$topStop is usually the height of your header. Normally you don't want it to scroll unless the user gets below the header, then you want it to scroll along.

$bottomStop is where you define where you want it to stop scrolling along so it doesn't push your footer down.

codigniter email class modified to support automatic unsubscribe link

When sending out newsletters you sometimes wish to use codeigniter for that.

Only problem with the standard codeigniter class is that when sending emails via SMTP it sets the from domain header to the domain you're sending from.
This is not always desirable...  but codeigniter out of itself doesn't support modifying this header.

Also, codeigniter gives no support for the unsubscribe link feature, I also added support for that too.

That is why I've modified the email sending class to support it.

Changes to the normal SMTP sending of emails in codeigniter:

The to field has now an optional second variable: The unsubscribe link for that person. If not used it won't be activated. you can also instead of an url put a "mailto:xxx@domain.com" in there.

The $config['domain'variable will hold the sending domain variable. Ideally this is the same as in the sender email domain. In my example mailing.domain.com.
For your convenience I've added a domain from email stripping code.

This way you should have these nice unsubscribe messages in outlook etc...
This doesn't mean you're scott free of omitting an unsubscribe link since office outlook clients don't support the unsubscribe feature, but it will rank positively on a spam score so your email has a bigger chance of getting delivered.

Nobody wishes their newsletter to go into the junk folder.
